A Free HDTV PC Tuner Test Program

Dvico, the company that builds the Fusion 7 PCI tuner developed a free test software program that will verify if your PC can display HDTV with your current graphics card and processor.

Go to Fusion download page and install “Fusion HDTV Demo 2.60 Software”. During the install process, when prompted for your processor and graphics card type select Pentinum 4 + Nvidia MX440 ,420, FX Series mode.

After a required reboot, go back to the Fusion download page , download and save “Sample Clip for ATSC 720P” into C:Program Files>DVICO>FusionHDTVDemo. This assumes you loaded the demo player in the default folder. If not, load it in the folder the Fusion Demo app resides.

NOTE: You really need a high speed connection for this download since the file is 73 MB.

Go to the Desktop and double click on the Fusion Demo icon. This will run a 20 second demo HDTV file and should give you a good idea how your PC will perform and what type of picture to expect.

If you get any stutter on playback, forget about using any tuners other than the MyHD MDP-130 card as the computer and graphics card cannot support other digital tuners.
