ATI All-in-Wonder HD Card Review
Reviewed February, 2009

ATI has a new combo graphics and hybrid digtial/analog tuner PCI-e card called appropriately enough the All-in-Wonder (AIW). There have been previous AIW's but they had only an analog tuner. The AIW HD is a combo 3650HD grahpics card with full HDMI and a hybrid ATI 650 Theater PRO with clearQAM capability.
PROS- Tuner works with included software application, Microsoft Media Center, and 3rd party applications such as
BeyondTV
- Tunes HDTV/Digital (Over-the-air or clearQAM cable) and Analog (OTA or cable)
- The included ATI application works with
TitanTV
for 2 week recording scheduling
- Includes FM tuner that works with Microsoft Media Center
- HDMI connection that carries both video and 5.1 digital audio
- Card fan is quite, making it work well for Media Center PC's
CONS - Single input port for TV tuner
- Card is full height so will not work in slim cases
- clearQAM will work only in Vista with the included ATI Media Center application
COST Around $200 (list)

COMMENTS:- If your looking for a card to do it all HD media wise, check out the ATI All-in-Wonder HD PCI-e card. This card will tune digital (including clearQAM) or analog TV stations, FM radio, and is also a full graphics card (ATI HD 3650) with DVI and HDMI outputs. This is a great solution for a PC with limited card slots. The AIW HD is a full height card though, so it won’t fit in a slim case.
The graphics portion will work with Blu-ray for full 1080p movies carrying both picture and digital sound thru the HDMI port which has HDCP built-in. The TV portion is the ATI 650 Theater Pro Hybrid tuner. There is only one RF input port, so you cannot use it for say both analog cable and digital over-the-air. But if you are doing just over-the-air or just cable, it will work fine. The FM tuner will work with Microsoft Media Center if you have the analog TV tuner configured. However since it uses the single RF port as the antenna, don’t expect to pick up many FM stations if you are using a cable company’s coax input.
