Review of Avermedia A180 PCI HDTV Tuner Card

Pros
  • Low cost
  • Drivers allow dual Avermedia A180 tuners in Media Center

  • Works with most third party tuner software such as BeyondTV, WatchHDTV, SageTV, and GB-PVR.
Cons
  • Not the best at pulling in weak and mulitpath over the air signals
  • An analog tuner is required for the tuner to function under MCE 2005, (will not work with Kram Drivers)
  • No remote or antenna included

Cost Around $80

Comments: Card stability is excellent. This is the cheapest QAM capable tuner currently on the market, however you must use the AVerMedia application for QAM. Good tuner for areas with strong over the air signals and not much mulitpath interference (trees, buildings, etc.)
