• This PCI-e HD tuner is unique in that it is dual tuner, but one tuner is dedicated to only analog and the other is dedicated digital. Avermedia has recently released a trial version of it's application software that will tune QAM cable as well as digital over the air with this card. The application is very Media Center like, however the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) depends on individual stations to supply program information, which may not always be present or accurate. The trial application can be downloaded from the Software Download link at the bottom of the page.

  This is a great tuner for MCE 2005 as it meets the analog tuner requirement and also tunes digital over the air signals. The analog quality is excellent as you would expect from a hardware encoder card, and in fact it is better than the hardware encoding Hauppauge PVR-150, a standard for analog MCE tuners.

  This card works great with Vista MCE as well as MCE 2005. System processor utilization is under MCE is average.

There are now test drivers available that will allow digital cable QAM stations to be displayed in Vista Media Center using the M780. Check here for more information.
