• Dvico, maker of the Fusion tuners, is one of the pioneers in the HD PC tuner world. They have always had quality hardware. The knock on the Fusion products has always been the application software, which has a history of being buggy and the price which has been a little high. However, application stability has much improved and the RT7 has a much better price than it's predecessor the RT5 ($130 vs. $170). For those reasons I have made the RT7 Gold my choice for best PCI tuner.
  
  

  This tuner works well with Media Center, both with MCE 2005 and Vista. Unfortunately you cannot tune unencrypted digital channels from cable using Media Center at this time. So for QAM you’ll need to use the Fusion application. You can use the free TitanTV ( here ) for scheduling programs.
