Kram Drivers Install for MCE & Hybrid Tuners
YOU CAN use one TV tuner for both analog and digital/HDTV under the Media Center Edition application, and it also works for Vista.
For the Vista install routine go
here
NOTE: An analog tuner is NOT required for Vista Media Center.
What you’ll need first: 1) One of the hybrid tuners from the
Compare Tuner page.
2) A (64Mb) DxVA graphics card or a powerful CPU.
3) Plenty of free disk space for recording or time-shifting, at least 100Gb.
4) A PC monitor that can display at 1024x768 resolution or better, or an HDTV monitor.
5) An antenna, hopefully you are close to your digital stations towers and you can use the antenna included with the Wonder. Go
here
for more antenna info.
What you will be able to do:
1) Watch HDTV/Digital TV and analog TV on your monitor using one TV card running under the MCE application. HDTV reception is over the air (OTA) only. Analog TV can be either OTA or via local cable.
2) Record and timeshift the above
3) Add a second Digital/HDTV tuner so you can record one show and watch another.
What you won’t be able to do: Watch one program and record another at the same time unless you get a second TV card (see #3 above).
Compatibility:
IF you are uncomfortable with using a driver "hack" and have an old ATI HDTV Wonder, go
here
for an alternative install.
