COMMENTS:
  • Good no frills HDTV soultion for MCE. Good reception where multipath (objects such as trees, tall buiding, etc) is an issue. Also supported by third party PVR software vendor such as Beyond TV4 and SageTV.
    Expect this unit to perform similar to the Vbox Cat's Eye 150 (see full review of the 150 here ).

Note: An analog tuner is required for this tuner to run under Microsoft Media Center 2005. No additional tuner is required for Vista Media Center.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or higher/XP Media Center Edition 2005/Vista

Note: This unit gets all it's power from the USB port. Consider purchasing a powered hub if many of your USB ports are in use.
